Advanced First Aid Training is Comera Medical Training’s premium workplace first-aid course, extending beyond standard first-aid competencies to cover complex casualty scenarios, advanced airway management, and structured multi-casualty response.
Who it’s for
For experienced first aiders and safety-critical roles where first-aid response is a core function — from oil and gas, mining, and remote-worksite operations to law enforcement, security services, and high-risk industrial environments. Also suitable for medical, para-medical, and allied health professionals looking to sharpen their emergency-response competencies.
What you’ll learn
- Advanced patient assessment and prioritisation across complex incidents
- Airway management including adjuncts and oxygen therapy
- Advanced casualty handling and immobilisation
- Managing traumatic injuries including major bleeding, blast injuries, and penetrating trauma
- Multi-casualty triage using recognised frameworks
- Extended primary and secondary survey techniques
- Structured incident handover to emergency services
Format
- Delivery: in-person, hosted at your premises for on-site groups or at our Bristol venue for open courses
- Cohort size: small groups for practical skills development
- Materials: printed learner materials, practical equipment access, and certificate on successful completion
- Assessment: ongoing practical assessment plus a written knowledge evaluation
