Course Description
This course will help you prepare for and understand how to respond to a marauding terrorist attack (MTA). An MTA is a fast moving, violent attack where assailants move through a location, aimed to find and kill or injure as many people as possible. In these kinds of attacks, most deaths are likely to occur within minutes, before the emergency services can respond.
Understanding how to recognise and rapidly respond to an attack in these crucial moments is therefore essential to minimising the risk of harm, whether to your staff or your customers. As the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) states, a successful response cannot happen by chance.
While it is never possible to completely remove the threat from terrorism, preparation and appropriate response strategies can and do save lives. This course will teach you what to expect in the event of an MTA and explain best practice on how to respond. As well as this theoretical training, the course contains practical exercises designed to put these principles in context. On completion of this course you will have an understanding of how to respond to an MTA and how to implement effective planning and preparation so that your people are best placed to react in an appropriate way, should the worst happen.
