Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People and Adults at Risk Level 2
Course Description
This Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People and Adults at Risk is specifically designed for those who have a specific responsibility in safeguarding and protecting in environments such as the NHS, education providers and social services. Attending this certified half-day comprehensive training course will provides learners with a greater understanding of how to safeguard and protect children, young people and adults needed to deal with a range of situations found when working with children, young people and adults at risk.
This is an in depth and comprehensive course that will cover a broad range of first aid scenarios and emergencies. Including both theory and practical sessions, we provide a practical, hands-on approach teaching learners to deal with situations as they arise with confidence in a fast, safe and effective way.
On successful completion of this course, learners will receive a Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People and Adults at Risk e-certificate which is valid for three years.
Who’s it for?
This qualification is suitable for those who are working with children, young people and adults at risk, including those in voluntary or unpaid positions. This can include:
- Teachers in primary and secondary schools, college and academy settings
- Teaching assistants in primary and secondary schools, college and academy settings
- Support staff
- Organisations such as sports clubs or charities providing care for Children, Young People and Adults at Risk
- Out of school and lunchtime club leaders and assistants
- Faith and Religious group leaders, assistants and volunteers.
What’s involved?
The course requires half a day (4 hours) of classroom attendance generally running between 9am to 5pm.Learners are required to complete practical assessments and exams.
For added reassurance, each learner is assessed throughout the course using a range of practical demonstrations, question and answer sessions, quizzes and engaging activities designed to coach and support you.
To ensure you get the most effective learning experience, learners must be physically able to participate as you will be required to participate in practical scenario based training sessions.
Pre-requisites
- Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the training
- Learners need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2).
