The Bodymapper is an innovative method for teaching functional anatomy by mapping the body’s internal structures onto the body itself. The concept was developed by leading sports educator Pete Banbury and refined over the course of 25 years.
The Bodymapper courses will help you to understand functional anatomy in a hands-on visual way, explain movement biomechanics, identify injury and prescribe associated exercise. Your learning will be cemented by The Bodymapper’s cutting edge learning framework: see, feel, map, move, memorise, designed to imprint learning in your mind in a lasting way.
The course is available for three regions, the ankle, the knee and the hip. You can also purchase a comprehensive lower body course, which includes all of the above at a reduced price.
Who is The Bodymapper for?

How does it work?
The bodymapper was born of the desire to make anatomical education straightforward and accessible to all. Avoiding lengthy text and technical jargon, Pete developed a 5-step approach to training, which is tailored to accomodate the major learning styles:
See – The system begins by showing you structures, to give you a visual understanding that can be hard to gain from textbooks
Feel – Building on the first step, we encourage students to feel the structures, providing an additional form of information, which helps your brain to build a tactile 3D model of the body
Map – We then encourage the students to physically map the pathways onto the body, which has been shown to activate different parts of the brain, helping you to consolidate your knowledge and identify gaps
Move – Observing someone move with the structures mapped on their body makes movement, musculature and joint loading practical and easy to understand
Memorise – To commit this knowledge to memory, we finish by performing these actions against the clock
