This course focuses on testing the recruitment efficiency of muscles within a clinical setting. It employs the muscle classification model (Comerford & Mottram, 2001) and principles of neurophysiology and biomechanics to help clinicians address movement related presentations. Delivered by Mark Comerford, this course is specifically designed to help clinicians deliver targeted movement retraining to successfully manage each patient’s pain, pathology, and compromised function of the neck and shoulder. The module can be taken as standalone course or as part of the Kinetic Control Movement Therapist (KCMT) accreditation route.
Kinetic Control courses are designed for registered medical health professionals such as physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, podiatrists etc.
In exceptional circumstances, experienced non-medical health professionals may be allowed to attend Kinetic Control courses but these participants MUST be able demonstrate that the course material is within their scope of practice.
If you are not sure if this course is right for you and want to check, get in touch.
Totalling more than 7.5 hours of education, the course is split over 27 sessions, including an extensive exploration of the Kinetic Control framework, testing protocols, and retraining interventions. Checks on learning are included to support clinical application of the content. In addition to clinical insights from Mark, further sessions on the concepts and application of retraining principles have been added to further support the integration of the KC approach within the clinical setting.
Course delegates will gain the most from this course if they have already viewed the following sessions from the Kinetic Control Movement Therapist (KCMT) Foundation Module: 1-12, 14-17, 20-22, and 24.
