Who’s it for?This level 3 course course is ideal for people looking to build their understanding of threat, risk and conflict and build practical skills for managing these when they occur. This will include practical self-defence techniques and conflict de-escalation. If you are not sure if this course is right for you and want to check, get in touch.
What’s involved?This is a half-day face-to-face course comprising 3 hours of guided learning. There will be theoretical and practical elements to the course, including practical self-defence demonstrations and training.
Pre-requisite:You must have completed Module 2: Safety and Security Training before starting this course. Learners must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must be physically capable of completing the practical assessment. It is also advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in English.

- Understand the theory of conflict management, including the effects of stress and fear
- Develop knowledge and understanding of threat, risk and situational awareness.
- Understand conflict communications and de-escalation techniques

- Understand conflict resolution principles
- Develop self-defence knowledge and skills
Suggested ProgressionIf you are travelling overseas, our SAFE series of courses may be appropriate for you. These deal more specifically with the type of security threats you may encounter when abroad. We offer three versions of this course, SAFE Lite, SAFE and SAFE+, depending on the threat level of your destination.
